    Supporting Victoria's tourist and heritage rail sector

    The Victorian Government is offering further financial support for Victoria’s tourist and heritage rail sector. Minister for Public Transport Ben Carroll said a total of $400,000 in funding is being made available for eligible groups within the sector to continue carrying out projects to preserve or improve state owned assets.

    Tender released for Bendigo Tramways expansion

    The Bendigo Tramways expansion is another step closer, with the project now out to tender. The $10.7 million project is being delivered by the Victorian Government in partnership with the City of Greater Bendigo and Bendigo Heritage Attractions, to create additional storage space and deliver upgraded workshop equipment to restore heritage rolling stock.

    Public vote open to name Wyndham bridges

    The community is being given the chance to vote for their favourite name for two bridges in Wyndham, so they can be located more easily in an emergency.

    New car parking on the way for Bendigo Line passengers

    The Victorian Government is delivering much needed new and upgraded car parking at three stations on the Bendigo line to make it easier for more people to catch the train.

    The Gisborne Station car parking area will be upgraded and new car parking will be built at Kyneton and Riddells Creek stations.

The practical and financial support measures will help these tourist and heritage railway organisations continue to do their important work of preserving Victoria’s railway history while providing a unique tourist offering.
