  • Network Management Centre Technical Officer

    About the role

    As a key member of the VicTrack Network Management Centre (NMC), NMC Technical Officers  participate in the day-to-day operations to monitor and manage all of VicTrack telecommunications  network based on SDH, PDH, DWDM, OTN, IP/MPLS, xDSL, wireless transmission and access  networks. 

    The NMC Technical Officers undertake day-to-day activities on a 24-hour basis as part of the  management of the network, these activities include: 

    • active monitoring of networks
    • troubleshooting of network issues and faults
    • resolution and escalation of network issues and faults
    • handling of change requests, permits to work, security monitoring calls and job ticket reviews  
    • contributing to the continuous improvement of NMC operations and processes.


    Position status: Full-time

    The Acceptance Engineer role is the highest level of technical escalation within the VicTrack Telecommunications Group.

    This position must possess the most in-depth technical knowledge and problem-solving skills. In addition, it is also a requirement to have in-depth knowledge of VicTrack’s Telco networks and products.

    This position is responsible for testing, evaluating and approving new products and technologies which will be integrated into VicTrack’s telecommunications network.

    The Acceptance Engineer is required to proactively identify and resolve any issues, which may potentially impact customer services and to minimise networks and services down time.

    This position may be requested to be available for 24x7 tier 3 technical support and is responsible for maintaining the network in optimal operational state to meet business and customer SLA targets.

    The Asset Inspector will be responsible for undertaking inspections of the Property Group’s infrastructure assets, which includes an extensive portfolio of buildings and facilities.

    In conjunction with the Maintenance team, the Asset Inspector will play a vital role in the engagement and supervision of contractors for various maintenance and rehabilitation works, which also extend to the portfolio of over 100 bridges to which the Property Group is the custodian.

    The Asset Inspector will work closely with the Infrastructure Team to plan inspections, identify and oversee the resolution of all defects and problems, and contribute to the continuous improvement of programs and associated processes.


    Position status: Permanent full-time

    As part of this process the Network Delivery Engineer is expected to participate in the planning, construction, commissioning and testing of appropriate solutions to meet or exceed customer requirements and to achieve these solutions while delivering commercial value for both VicTrack and its customers. 

    The Network Delivery Engineer participates in the process to develop and implement strategies for the continuous improvement of the delivery of technical solutions in accordance with installation, deployment and provisioning guidelines.

     

    Position status: Fixed-term, Full-time (1 year)
