    About the role

    The Senior Network & Telecommunications Specialist is a subject matter expert for VicTrack’s data, wireless and transmission technologies, serving as escalation point within the Field Operations team. It is expected the position utilises hands-on skills, knowledge and experience to undertake reactive restoration, including proactive and preventative maintenance to improve reliability, efficiency, identify risks that may potentially adversely impact customer and network
    services.

    The position will manage and oversee continuous improvement of the operational maintenance process to develop and deliver innovative and appropriate solutions that meet or exceed our customer requirements while delivering commercial value for VicTrack, its customers and other stakeholders.

    This position is also required to provide technical support, guidance and mentoring to other operational staff in Telecommunications Operations, including other teams when required and as requested, in relation to telecommunications network and services.

    The Senior Technical Analyst Operations is responsible to control, plan, lead and participate in the execution of the operational handover and acceptance of telecommunication services and infrastructure in response to requests from internal and external customers.

    The position manages and oversees continuous improvement of the operational management process to develop and deliver innovative and appropriate solutions that meet or exceed customer requirements while delivering commercial value for VicTrack, its customers and other stakeholders.

  • Network Management Centre Technical Officer

    About the role

    As a key member of the VicTrack Network Management Centre (NMC), NMC Technical Officers  participate in the day-to-day operations to monitor and manage all of VicTrack telecommunications  network based on SDH, PDH, DWDM, OTN, IP/MPLS, xDSL, wireless transmission and access  networks. 

    The NMC Technical Officers undertake day-to-day activities on a 24-hour basis as part of the  management of the network, these activities include: 

    • active monitoring of networks
    • troubleshooting of network issues and faults
    • resolution and escalation of network issues and faults
    • handling of change requests, permits to work, security monitoring calls and job ticket reviews  
    • contributing to the continuous improvement of NMC operations and processes.

    Position status: Full-time
