    It is important to consider the location of the roads because names must commemorate a local event, place or a person who is deceased and held in high regard by the community. The name must also be relevant to the road location.

    Nominations must:

    • commemorate a local event, place or a person who is deceased and held in high regard by the community
    • be relevant to the location
    • state a reason why you want to nominate a specific name (up to 250 words)
    • be relevant to the local community, or be an unofficial name used by the local community
    • be no more than three words, one of which must be ‘Bridge'
    • not be an abbreviation or the initials of a person
    • not have a similar name, spelling or pronunciation within 5/15/30* kms of the bridge (*metro/regional/rural – pg 11 of guidelines)
    • not include cardinal directions (north, south, east or west)
    • not be offensive on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexuality or gender.
