A new 745 space car park has opened at Craigieburn Station, boosting the total number of parking spaces at the station to more than 1,200 and making it easier for commuters to find a car park and catch the train.

The Victorian Government is supporting tourist and heritage rail operators bounce back from the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic with $1 million in funding.  

The Victorian Government is delivering much needed new and upgraded car parking at three stations on the Bendigo line to make it easier for more people to catch the train.

The Gisborne Station car parking area will be upgraded and new car parking will be built at Kyneton and Riddells Creek stations.

A new package of support measures will help Victoria’s tourist and heritage railways continue to operate and expand into the future. The practical and financial support measures will help these tourist and heritage railway organisations continue to do their important work of preserving Victoria’s railway history while providing a unique tourist offering.

The works will lead to more than 1,000 parking spaces for commuters using the station – with 745 new spaces to be delivered once these works are complete.

Works have started to build up to 120 new and upgraded commuter car parks at Hurstbridge Station.

After unprecedented interest from Australian and international companies, the Victorian Government has shortlisted four groups for the development of the Treasury Square site in Melbourne’s CBD.
