The IKON Glen Waverley development and station forecourt upgrade has been commended by the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA) at their National Awards for Planning Excellence.
The commendation followed the development’s win last year at the PIA’s Victorian Awards, when it won in the From Plan to Place category.
The $70 million IKON Glen Waverley development is part of the Victorian Government’s Station Precinct Enhancement Program.
It contains 116 apartments as well as retail space on the doorstep of public transport, and was built by Consolidated Properties in partnership with VicTrack.
Part of the proceeds from the development funded $1.8 million of station forecourt upgrades, which have improved accessibility, seating and shelter.
The national awards were held on Wednesday 13 May in Melbourne, as part of the national PIA congress. Award entrants were subject to a rigorous evaluation process conducted by a panel of judges from within the industry.
